Hope you are all potting away ready for the next firing 9th – 10th Feb. Packing from 10 am on the Saturday, and firing from 10 on Sunday. Hope the snow doesn’t last till then!!
Thank you to those who have let me know if you are taking part. If you haven’t yet replied please get in touch, even if it’s to say you are not sure. At least then I know my emails are reaching you!
Further dates for the year:
We will be firing over the May Open Up Sheffield open studio event which takes place over the weekends of 4/5th and 11/12th May. Exact packing and firing dates to be confirmed but most likely packing on 4th, firing on 5th, opening on 11th.
Penny and I will be mounting an exhibition at this event. If you would also like to exhibit then you will need to pay the Open Up Sheffield fee of £ 95 (see http://www.openupsheffield.co.uk). We would have liked to have offered you the opportunity to exhibit as part of the membership package but unfortunately this is against the rules of Open Up Sheffield. We are happy, however, to have a small discreet display of work produced by members as a demonstration of the effects of the wood-firing kiln. More details on this nearer the time.
We will also be firing on 29th June to coincide with Green Estate Open Day.
The new membership year starts in July. Confirmed date for autumn firing is 14th September. We will also fire and have an exhibition to tie in with Yorkshire Artspace Open Studios in November (this and other firing dates tbc).
Hope to see you in February. Any questions, get in touch!
All the best

(hint, hint) then have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and get making!
Penny Withers and Sarah Villeneau have teamed up as ‘ Manor Stokers’, providing workshop facilities for clay based, hands-on group sessions and courses that are centred on a new design wood fired smokeless kiln. The new pottery is an important feature of the Manor Oaks Ceramics Trail, which also includes the historical pottery of John Fox and contemporary work by recent graduates and resident ceramist schemes.
Penny and Sarah will be firing the kiln on Saturday 5th and unpacking it on Saturday 12th May. They will have an exhibition of their own work on show and for sale.
STUDIO: Manor Oaks Cottages feature a new pottery studio and urban smokeless wood-fired kiln. My work will be on temporary display.
